Students often struggle making the leap between visual/concrete to abstract. Solving equations symbolically is an entirely new language for students. This course is designed to help students form a conceptual understanding of the algebraic manipulations they are performing when solving equations.
 
Students will work their way through different levels, each with a new action or added complexity.
 
Level 7 - Solving Equations by Adding a Variable Term
 
Solve equations both visually and algebraically (side-by-side)
Discuss positive and negative as being opposites (zero pairs)
Solve equations that have a negative coefficient by adding the opposite.
