Students often struggle making the leap between visual/concrete to abstract. Solving equations symbolically is an entirely new language for students. This course is designed to help students form a conceptual understanding of the algebraic manipulations they are performing when solving equations.
 
Students will work their way through different levels, each with a new action or added complexity.
 
Level 8 - Solving Equations by Combining Like Terms
 
Review the 5 actions so far.
Solve equations both visually and algebraically (side-by-side)
Practice "sorting and simplifying" terms (i.e. commutative property & CLT)
Solve equations that require CLT.
Review a flow chart that outlines the general strategy stages for solving multi-step equations.
